The Manufactured Body Exhibition 2023

The word "Manufactured" applied to the Body means how we shape our bodies in society and make or experience ourselves, using the artist's Body as experience and research.

The artist's Body covered in paint becomes the canvas and sculpture on display.

This five-room exhibition, funded by the Levelling Up Funds through Crawley Borough Council i association with Word festival 2023, showcases my work and research from 2019 to 2022. It explores how society shapes our bodies and aims to inform the audience about the effects of societal views on body image.

The exhibition includes drawings, paintings, photographs, workshops, performance art, and documentation. It offers an interactive experience that invites everyone to participate in self-acceptance. The exhibition encourages us to acknowledge the realities of our bodies, like cellulite and loose skin and challenges the stigma around body size and measurements.

Curated around my personal story, the exhibition helps viewers explore the complexities of body image and creates a sense of connection and engagement. It asks questions about what our future bodies might look like.
